Andre Lousada

Orchestral and operatic conductor André Lousada is Assistant Conductor of the Peabody Concert Orchestra in Baltimore, Maryland and, beginning in February of 2013, will also serve as a cover conductor for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra through the 2013-2014 season. From 2010-2012, at the State University of New York at Fredonia, he was Assistant Conductor of the Hillman Opera Company, the Fredonia Chamber Orchestra, and the College Symphony Orchestra. He also taught undergraduate conducting courses and was Music Director of the Sinfonia Orchestra. He directed a fully staged production of the opera Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, conducted readings of new choral and symphonic works written by SUNY-Fredonia composers, and helped prepare a gala performance of Dvorak's Cello Concerto featuring Yo-Yo-Ma. Among these many duties, from 2010-2012, he served as Assistant Conductor of the Orchard Park Symphony Orchestra in Orchard Park, New York.
